It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Álvaro Mendes Pereira, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fucoli-Somepal, which occurred last Sunday, 16 November. He passed away peacefully, in the presence of his daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by the love of his family. 

Mr. Álvaro left a deep mark on the history of our company. His vision, dedication, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit forged the foundations of Fucoli-Somepal for almost six decades. His legacy and exemplary work ethic remain alive in everything we have built and will continue to guide us in the future. 

His sense of responsibility, integrity and dedication to this company will be remembered with deep respect by all those who had the privilege of working alongside him or crossing paths with him. The mark he leaves is indelible in the history and identity of Fucoli-Somepal. 

The wake will take place from 3 p.m. on 18 November at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, with a funeral mass at 11 a.m. on 19 November. 

In honour of his memory, both factories will be closed on 19 November. 

We appreciate everyone's understanding and support during this difficult time for his family and all those who knew him.
